Carbine Master Operator Program (CMOP), Level 1

Course Description

This is a hybrid carbine training course that all shooters can benefit from. The Carbine Master Operator Program (CMOP) systematically covers basic through advanced skill sets over a two-day period in a tried-and-true process that makes better shooters. This course provides an in-depth overview of the various types of carbines and optics on the market, how to select an appropriate combination for your desired needs and allows you to try numerous options to determine what works best for you while engaging targets from 5 to 600 yards.  While attending this course, students should expect to be immersed in a 21st century learning environment where they will receive and participate in modern instructional methods in a classroom setting before transitioning into live-fire training.

  • Use of Slings, Grips, and several other Accessories
  • Cleaning Techniques and Considerations
  • Zeroing Processes
  • Rapid / Multiple Target Engagements
  • Engaging Targets while Moving and from behind Mediums / Cover
  • Un-Known Distance Engagements
  • Target Engagements from 5 yards to 600 yards
  • CMOP "Standards Live-Fire Progression Evaluation" Near



Price: $750 (Includes Range Fee, Process Service Fee, and Background Check)

Echo Valley Training Center Courses:

All personnel attending this course will conduct link-up between 0720-0730 each day of the course at the Courtyard by Mariott, Winchester, Va. (Address:  300 Marriott Drive Winchester, Virginia 22603)

* Please do not attempt to drive to the range on your own. *


Range 1 Courses:

All personnel attending this course will conduct link-up with the instructor cadre at 0745 each day of the course at the Range 1 classroom / bunk house. (Address: Tipple Creek Rd, Jolo, WV 24850)

For Range 1 lodging, and to book on site lodging at the bunk house click here. If not staying on site, it is recommended that you book lodging in Grundy, Va. 


For each course, more specific details to include a map chit and contact numbers will be provided upon registration.

Required Equipment

  • AR15 Style Rifle/Pistol System
  • Optic: recommended to bring a Low Power Variable Optic or magnifier for red dot / holographic sights.
  • 800 rounds of ammunition (min) *No Green Tip*
  • Sling
  • Mags (4 min) and Mag Pouches
  • Shooters Belt and or Chest Rig / Plate Carrier
  • Eye and Hearing Protection
  • Shooting Gloves
  • Water Source
  • Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK)
  • Appropriate clothing (pants and closed toe shoes or boots)


*All required equipment can be rented from Razorback Tactical*


Rifle/Optic system rental will come as a complete system to include mags/sling, available for $100 for the entire course.  Ammo not included.

Additional details such as a required/recommended Hyper-linked gear-list and tentative course schedule will be emailed to each student upon registration.


*Background Check*

To ensure the safety of our communities, students, and instructors, all personnel conducting any in-person course are required to conduct a background check.  

Upon registration you will be prompted to complete a background check. Failure to complete or pass background check prior to course results in automatic disenrollment and refund minus service fees.
